Denatonium Benzoate is the world's bitterest known substance.

Adding as little as thirty parts of Denatonium Benzoate to one million parts of a liquid makes that liquid too bitter to be tolerated by most human subjects. This denaturant has been thus described as the bitterest compound known.

Ethylene glycol is an odorless, sweet tasting poisonous chemical used in the production of antifreeze and many other products. Ethylene glycol can adversely affect humans through ingestion, inhalation or contact with the eyes and/or skin. Exposures and poisonings from ethylene glycol based antifreeze are regularly reported to poison control centers.

Antifreeze products have a sweet taste and appealing colour that may be attractive to animals and children. Drinking as little as one or two ounces can lead to death in a small child. A cat can receive a lethal dose from licking its paws after walking through spilled antifreeze. Improper storage or handling of antifreeze contributes to hundreds of human exposures in the state annually. Leaks from improperly maintained motor vehicles and improper storage and disposal leads to thousands of animal exposures each year. In addition, this product is effective and easy to use for intentional poisoning of domestic animals and wildlife.

Antifreeze based on Mono Ethylene Glycol is very poisonous. Adding Denatonium Benzoate to such MEG Based antifreeze makes it very difficult for pets to swallow this bitter solution.

We recommend at least 30-50 ppm (parts per million) of Denatonium Benzoate in MEG.

To make things easier for our customers, we offer a pre blended solution of Denatonium benzoate in Mono Ethylene Glycol.

These solutions are custom made & can be designed to customer specifications.

We can also offer pre-diluted solutions of Denatonium benzoate in Mono ethylene Glycol as well as Denatonium Benzoate in water soluble bags so it can be added to mono ethylene Glycol and water solutions.
